As a licensed mechanical engineer, Matt has experience as a mechanical HVAC and plumbing design engineer for automotive, commercial, manufacturing, industrial, and institutional buildings. His experience encompasses chilled, hot water and water source heat pump HVAC systems, as well as VRF, DOAS, Packaged DX, VAV AHUs, and RTUs. Matt routinely designs per ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1, IMC, and the IPC. Additional experience includes project management, thermal energy simulation modeling, and LEED projects. He has developed numerous Energy Model Simulations for LEED or other Green Building program projects, including the first ever Net Zero building energy model for the U.S. government. In addition to his project work, Matt currently serves on SSOE’s Sustainable Design Committee. He has additional experience during his undergraduate studies as an Engineering Co-op student in manufacturing of automobiles at Mercedes Benz in Vance, Alabama.
