TOLEDO, Ohio, July 17, 2024 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), an internationally ranked architecture and engineering firm, recently announced that Lauren Collier, Director of Project Technology, will be leading an Autodesk webinar alongside the multinational software company’s Senior Audience Marketing Manager Adrian Finch and Senior Product Marketing Manager Kyle Seyler live on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. PST / 11:30 a.m. EST. The webinar will also be available on demand as part of Autodesk Learning.
SSOE has held a corporate enterprise agreement with Autodesk for nearly a decade to ensure the organization is pushing the envelope in technology utilization. Last year, the firm received Autodesk’s Design & Make AEC Best Construction Project Award for its design of the Ascend Elements electric vehicle (EV) battery materials manufacturing facility while Collier—who has been leading Autodesk University sessions for over a decade—was recognized as one of 25 Autodesk Construction Champions.
Data Visibility at Scale: Revolutionizing Factory Design
Collier and Autodesk’s webinar, titled “The Power of Data Sharing: How SSOE is Leading the Way in Semiconductor and EV Factory Design,” will delve into how the firm is utilizing Autodesk’s suite of tools to accelerate the journey from concept to market readiness and enabling its clients to leverage data for modifications and ongoing operations of their facilities. Through thoughtful Q&A, Collier will explore the remarkable evolution of manufacturing, transitioning from the era of steam-powered plants and mechanical assembly lines to the current state-of-the-art mega-scale facilities that are powered by data.
This continuous advancement necessitates a new, collaborative approach to factory design and construction, requiring seamless integration between architects, engineers, and contractors. The collaborative approach provides all stakeholders with real-time access to critical data, enabling precise construction and modernization of factories that revolutionizes the industry, ensuring production environments are built to the highest standards and aligned with operational needs to enhance productivity and innovation.
Collier—along with Autodesk’s Auluck and Seyler—will discuss how to streamline collaboration using centralized data in the Autodesk ecosystem; keep projects on track, on schedule, and on budget; improve the design and build experience for all parties; and partner with stakeholders to achieve better project outcomes.
When Collier was asked what makes SSOE uniquely qualified to lead this discussion with Autodesk, she shared, “SSOE’s unmatched semiconductor expertise—spanning more than 40 years—has positioned the firm perfectly for the battery / EV sector. SSOE not only possesses the subject matter expertise to execute the work, but also excels at identifying digital framework opportunities. As a result, and with the help of Autodesk’s technology that allows for the design of these truly massive ‘mini-cities’ at scale, SSOE is designing on a replication basis, enabling off-site manufacturing, building critical building data elements into the material takeoff metadata to improve the procurement experience and create project savings for its clients, enabling the firm’s partners to construct more quickly and safely, enriching facility management and factory changeovers, and connecting disconnected silos of information for the owner to give them a starting point. And we can go so much further when our clients are ready; that’s what the digital transformation journey is all about—meeting our clients and partners where they’re at and finding value and efficiencies right there.”
Driving Adoption and Leading SSOE into the Future
An architect by education who transitioned to technology early in her career, Collier embarked on her journey with SSOE in 2007. Since then, she has emerged as a visionary leader within the firm and across the AEC industry. Collier has been commended by SSOE’s executive leadership for driving operational efficiency throughout the firm’s business and keeping it on the leading edge of technology while driving value for its clients and creating a differentiation for SSOE.
SSOE, recognized as both the #2 Manufacturing Design Firm and #2 Semiconductor Design Firm in the U.S. by ENR, boasts an impressive portfolio of more than 50 active or already completed battery / EV projects in North America spanning 28M SF of battery plant design with expertise that extends across every phase of the battery supply chain.
