TOLEDO, Ohio, June 23, 2022 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), an internationally ranked architecture and engineering firm, announced today that Lauren Collier, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Department Manager, has been selected to conduct an Autodesk Master Class for those currently pursuing or interested in advancing their career in BIM / VDC—a growing profession.
Collier’s on-demand session titled “Advance your BIM / VDC Career” was created to inspire the next generation of architects, engineers, construction managers, and technologists to push boundaries, providing the steps to build a successful team, get a promotion, and thrive in their roles. This series, which consists of 12-short videos, allows attendees to learn innovative ways to bring together technologies, teams, and processes while also future-proofing and accelerating their careers by getting in the mindset of learning new things and developing a professional strategy.
An architect in training who transitioned to technology early in her career, Collier holds a Master of Architecture from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Art and Architecture from Miami University. She has 16 years of industry experience ranging from healthcare and industrial architectural design to BIM implementation, innovation projects, and executing corporate initiatives. Her creative passion lies in Lean, continuous improvements, and innovative model / data use solutions for design and construction operations. Lauren leads a group of VDC technical leaders and model managers whose focus is on implementing new and innovative technologies and best practices in design and construction.
Over the past several years, Collier has presented at numerous conferences, including Autodesk University in 2012, 2017, and 2021, the Association for Strategic Planning Annual Conference in 2016, several Ohio Facilities Construction Commission Conferences, and Advancing Construction Technology in 2018. She is also a published thought leader in well-known industry-leading publications such as Building Design + Construction, Engineering News-Record, ARCHITECT Magazine, Lab Manager, and New Equipment Digest. Ranked among the top construction classes at Autodesk University earlier this year, Collier co-presented “Data in the AEC Lifecycle: Using Data to Better Connect AECO Stakeholders” with Autodesk’s Sunny Manku, which took a deep dive into the value of collecting data across enterprise and connected cloud environments.
