TOLEDO, Ohio, November 1, 2018 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), a global project delivery firm for architecture, engineering, and construction management, announced today that Jennifer Wuertz, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-SCHP, Vice President and Director of Human Resources, was invited and participated as a panelist at the L.I.F.T. 2018 MIDWEST African American Professionals and Allies Conference. The year’s event took place October 24-25, 2018 at the Holiday Inn French Quarter in Perrysburg, Ohio.
Wuertz was part of a panel discussion titled “Acknowledging Corporate Excellence: Showcasing Companies Getting Diversity Right and the Steps They Made to Get There.” Joining her on the panel were Darlene Slaughter, Chief Diversity Officer for United Way Worldwide, and Alan Nevel, Senior Vice President, Chief Diversity Officer and HR Officer for The MetroHealth System. With offices and projects across the U.S. and around the world, SSOE has made a commitment to foster a diverse and inclusive culture that promotes personal and organizational growth—building these values into the firm’s vision, core values, and corporate priorities. As a panelist, Wuertz shared SSOE’s journey to broader diversity and inclusion, focusing on building a strong foundation to ensure it becomes sustainable and ingrained in the firm’s culture.

Wuertz joined SSOE’s Human Resources department in 1993. She served in various positions within the Human Resources Department before being named Director, Talent Management, in late 2014. In 1999, Jennifer was named an Associate, and in 2006, she became a Sr. Associate, and finally a Principal in 2016. Twice a graduate of the University of Toledo, Jennifer has received both her Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management and her Master of Business Administration (MBA). She is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR), having attained certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI). She is a member of both the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Northwest Ohio Human Resource Association (NOHRA).
