TOLEDO, Ohio, October 1, 2018 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), a global architecture, engineering, and construction management firm, announced today that they are proud to be a sponsor of the 8th Annual Midwest Urban Design Charrette hosted by the Toledo Design Center (TDC). This event will take place October 5-7, 2018 at the TDC at One SeaGate in downtown Toledo in the Garden Room. The Midwest Urban Design Charrette is a rewarding experience for graduate students and professors / instructors from three higher education institutions, Kent State’s Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative (CUDC), Lawrence Technology University, and the University at Buffalo. Students attending are currently studying in the fields of architecture and urban design and will get an opportunity to face real-life design challenges and propose solutions for Toledo’s Junction neighborhood in the Sterling Park / Swan Creek area.
“The TDC sincerely thanks SSOE for making a significant contribution toward the sponsorship of this event. It is a privilege for the TDC to be hosting the charrette as it will bring a number of benefits to Toledo and the TDC and will put fresh eyes on an area of the Junction neighborhood that has real potential to improve the quality of life in the area.” states Mike Young of the TDC.
The TDC is a division of the consensus-driven non-profit Downtown Toledo Development Corporation (DTDC) / ConnecToledo that is focused on the revitalization, development, beautification, and advancement of downtown Toledo. The TDC is overseen by a board of volunteer professionals from the design community, including architects, landscape architects, and planners.
