TOLEDO, Ohio, January 6, 2021 – SSOE Group, a global project delivery firm for architecture, engineering, and construction management, is proud to announce that Catherine Myers, PE, Chief Operating Officer (COO), has been named the first woman Chair of the Board in SSOE’s nearly 75-year history.

She is also responsible for SSOE Systems, the firm’s construction management division. Catherine is no stranger to serving at the board level; she has many years of experience serving on numerous boards for local non-profit organizations in the Portland, Oregon, area where she resides and works.
In addition to Catherine’s appointment, Matthew Oberts, PE, LEED AP, SBU Manager, Automotive and Manufacturing Facilities, Senior Vice President has been elected to the Board of Directors for a three-year term, expiring December 2023, and Ronald Stang, AIA, LEED AP, SBU Manager, Building Design Group, Senior Vice President, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for a one-year term expiring December 2021.
Vince DiPofi, PE, President and CEO of SSOE, commented “Catherine has had a tremendous impact on our company and her election as Chair of our Board demonstrates the respect she has from her peers and our shareholders. I’m looking forward to working together with her to achieve the company vision.”
Catherine, who was honored with the Daily Journal of Commerce Oregon’s Women of Vision award this past October, shared, “Working in what has historically been a male-dominated industry my entire career has had its challenges, all of which have helped me develop my leadership style. As the first female chief operating officer, executive vice president, and now chair of the board at SSOE, I am proud to be an advocate for industry diversity and a positive example for women looking to achieve success in a STEM-related career. Thankfully, I work for a firm that recognizes the importance of development opportunities for all employees, views diversity of thought as a strategic advantage, and has a meritocratic culture that rewards hard work, creativity, and skill.”
