TOLEDO, Ohio, February 25, 2021 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), a global project delivery firm for architecture, engineering, and construction management, is proud to announce the recent appointment of Vince DiPofi as a member of United Way of Greater Toledo’s (UWGT) Board of Directors. UWGT’s Board of Directors serves to keep the organization on track and moving forward by engaging in ongoing meetings to develop strategic tactics that benefit the communities they serve.
SSOE has been a strong supporter of the United Way for decades, dating back to its founder Al Samborn’s involvement with the organization in the early eighties. Commenting on the addition of Vince to their Board, Wendy Pestrue, JD, President and CEO of UWGT stated, “We are deeply honored Vince has chosen to be a part of our Board of Directors, he’s engaged and has tremendous ideas. Our team really enjoys talking with Vince and learning from his perspective. His love for the community and desire to make it stronger and healthier is compelling. We’re thrilled he’s a part of our UWGT family and we all look forward to what the future holds!”
In 2019, Vince DiPofi, PE, was named President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SSOE Group. Vince holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Toledo and is a licensed professional engineer in both Ohio and Michigan. He is active in the Toledo Society of Professional Engineers (former Board President and past Young Engineer of the Year recipient) and is on the Dean’s Advisory Board for The University of Toledo College of Engineering. In addition, Vince was named The University of Toledo’s College of Engineering 2019 Distinguished Alumni.
“SSOE’s Vision is designing and building the future for our clients, colleagues, and communities,” stated Vince. “While every project we complete impacts our communities, we also know that every colleague that works at our company has an opportunity to individually impact their community. We believe that volunteerism and giving back is paramount to a community’s success and have set a specific goal for each of our employees to contribute 20 hours of community service annually; the equivalent of one full-time community worker for every 100 employees. My appointment to the UWGT Board of Directors reinforces our company’s efforts to impact the communities in which we live and work. I am excited to collaborate and strategize with the other board members and the UWGT!”
For more than 100 years, United Way has fundraised for and invested in the Greater Toledo community. With more than 20,000 donors, 10,000 local volunteers, and over $9 million raised annually, they continue to bring incredible people together to make positive community change.
