DALLAS, Texas, July 23, 2024 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), an internationally ranked architecture and engineering firm, announced today that Mike Griggs, Director of Computer and Information Systems, will participate in a panel discussion at the Advancing Construction Cybersecurity Summit on July 29–31, 2024 at The Beeman Hotel in Dallas.
On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, Griggs will present a case study titled “Demonstrating the ROI on Cybersecurity Strategies to Secure Executive Buy-In & Ensure Consistent Funding” at 8:40 a.m. (CST). Attendees of this session will learn how to identify and quantify business cyber risk to determine the appropriate level of investment, construct a compelling narrative to effectively communicate cybersecurity metrics and benchmarks to company leadership to highlight the criticality of investment, and establish a top-down strategy from the executive team to middle management to ensure alignment of security goals.
On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, Griggs will also participate in the panel discussion titled “Analyzing the Growing Danger of AI to Proactively Equip Your Business & Mitigate Potential Risks” at 9:10 a.m. (CST). Joining him on the panel is Chris Clinard, Systems Architect for Samet Corporation; Eric Corder, Director, Head of IT and Security for Performance Contracting Group; and Christopher Chambers, Chief Information Security Officer for Comfort Systems USA, Design Mechanical.
Attendees of this panel will gain insight into the recent advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the implications for the construction industry, learn novel methods cybercriminals are employing to utilize AI in their attack vectors, and understand the legal implications of utilizing AI and how to navigate them for in-house use.
The inaugural Advancing Construction Cybersecurity Summit is designed to unite chief information security officers, chief information officers, cybersecurity, information security, legal, and governance, risk, and compliance experts across the architectural, engineering, and construction community to tackle shared challenges surrounding the enterprise-wide protection and security of valuable personnel, project, and financial data. During the three-day event, attendees will unearth lessons learned from ransomware attacks, discover how others are ensuring Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) compliance, and develop robust security protocols for themselves and partners across all project sites, along with many more security strategies.
Griggs began his career with SSOE in 2000 as a Systems Coordinator for the firm’s HelpDesk Department. Since then, he has held a variety of roles including Systems Analyst, Systems Administrator, IT Department Manager, and now Director of Computer and Information Systems. In his role, he is responsible for the firm’s information technology group. Griggs is a graduate of Baker College and holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems. He is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
