HUNTSVILLE, Alabama, July 1, 2020 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), a global project delivery firm for architecture, engineering, and construction management, is proud to announce the recent appointment of Alyson Dinca as the new President of the Construction Specifications Institute’s (CSI) Huntsville Chapter. CSI is a national association dedicated to improving the documentation, management, and communication of building information as used by the construction community.
Alyson Dinca, PMP, CSI, CDT, is a project manager with SSOE’s Healthcare, Commercial, and Education Strategic Business Unit (SBU), based in Huntsville, Alabama. She is skilled in planning, management, software documentation, contract management, and process scheduling. Her responsibilities include directly managing both single and multidisciplinary programs and projects from proposal through closeout across multiple offices. She often acts as the point of contact for many clients and their projects, as well as provides project controls, budgeting, and general project support for other project management and corporate staff.
In addition to her position with SSOE, Alyson has played a critical role within the CSI Huntsville Chapter. Alyson has been a member for nearly five years and has spent the majority of that time on the Huntsville Board. In 2016, Alyson received her Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) certification, awarded by CSI. This certification indicates an individual has successfully completed the CDT exam, which measures comprehensive knowledge of the writing and management of construction documents. She has held the positions of Secretary and Vice President for two years, as well as the Chair of Technology Day—a revamped version of a CEU Day for the membership. As a local Huntsville leader, she is also a member of the Gulf States Regional Leadership Group. At last year’s 2019 Gulf States Region Leadership Conference held in Little Rock, Arkansas, Alyson was presented with an Award for Outstanding Program for the Technology Day event that she chairs. Next year, the CSI Gulf States Regional Conference is expected to be hosted in Huntsville and is currently in the planning stages.
CSI accomplishes its mission through the development of construction standards and formats such as MasterFormat and UniFormat; the promulgation of those formats through master guide specifications and building information management (BIM) software; training and certification programs, including the Construction Documents Technology (CDT) and Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) exams; publication of Construction Specifier magazine; and an ever-expanding membership of decision-makers who identify and specify building product solutions. CSI members include a cross-section of specifiers, architects, contractors, suppliers, and other construction project professionals who are touched by construction documentation.
