PORTLAND, OREGON, August 12, 2020 – SSOE Group, a global project delivery firm for architecture, engineering, and construction management, is excited to introduce a new addition to their Executive Management leadership team: Scott Thompson, who will serve as Vice President of Technology. Scott will be based out of SSOE’s Portland, Oregon office with a considerable percentage of time spent at the firm’s world headquarters in Toledo, Ohio.
Scott has a well-established track record of technology leadership within the architectural and engineering industry. In his previous work, he served as the Information Service Delivery Director at Worley, the Information Service Delivery Director at Jacobs, the International Director of Information Technology at CH2M Hill, and the Chief Information Officer at Industrial Design Corporation. In these roles, Scott managed global IT environments, implemented technology to support company strategies, and collaborated closely with operational units to position them to achieve their business objectives.
In his new role, Scott will be responsible for the performance and implementation of technology throughout SSOE. Scott will provide leadership and vision to cascade a clear technology strategy supported by ROI analysis and strong project management. Tasked with advancing SSOE’s use of technology in design and delivery processes, he will challenge the status quo while also seeking to understand end-users’ needs, ultimately bringing value to the firm’s clients.

Scott holds a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of California at San Diego. He’s actively involved in several groups and initiatives focused on strengthening technology and education sectors, as well as promoting emerging and green technologies.
