TOLEDO, Ohio, March 19, 2015 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), a global engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) firm is proud to announce the addition of two new professionals to their Human Resource department. Mary Cobb is the new Manager of Learning & Development and will be located in SSOE’s headquarters in Toledo, Ohio, and Linda Hwang, a new Human Resource Generalist for the Advanced Technologies Strategic Business Unit (SBU) will be located in SSOE’s Hillsboro, Oregon office.
SSOE has a long history of promoting employee development and supporting it with dedicated resources. In her role, Mary Cobb will lead the development, management, and execution of SSOE’s technical and leadership training. Cobb has over 18 years of experience in training and development. Her expertise includes the implementation of management and staff training and development activities, including career enhancing strategies for high-potential staff, assessment, and evaluation strategies. In addition, she also brings expertise in facilitating process improvement in human resource efforts through organizational development and change initiatives. Cobb comes to SSOE from The Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities, where she served as Talent Manager and Training and Development Coordinator.
Cobb holds a master’s degree in business administration from The University of Toledo and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and economics with honors from the University of Michigan – Flint. She has been the adult co-ed head soccer coach for the Lucas County Special Olympics for the past six years. In addition, she has served in a variety of positions with both the Toledo Area Human Resources Association and the Greater Toledo Chapter of ASTD.
Linda Hwang, Human Resource Generalist for SSOE’s Advanced Technologies SBU, is responsible for supporting the recruitment, on-boarding, benefits, training, , and employee relations for SSOE’s Hillsboro, Oregon, Chandler, Arizona, and Albany, New York and Santa Clara, California locations. She comes to SSOE as an HR Generalist from D+H, a global provider of technology solutions to financial institutions. Prior to that, she was the HR Specialist for LAIKA, an animation studio specializing in feature films. Her expertise includes recruitment; benefit coordination; business continuity planning; engagement surveys; employee retention efforts; performance review process; and the development, implementation, and facilitation of training/development programs.
Hwang holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources management and personnel psychology from Washington State University. In addition, she earned her certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) in 2014 and her SHRM-CP certification from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) in 2015.
