Showcasing Firm’s Leadership in Workforce Development Facility Design
COLUMBIA, South Carolina, February 14, 2025 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), an internationally ranked architecture and engineering firm, announced today three of its workforce development subject matter experts will participate in a panel discussion at the South Carolina Technical Education Association (SCTEA) Conference. This event will take place from February 20-22, at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort.
Transforming Communities: The Power of Training Centers
The moderator of this panel discussion is SSOE’s Adriane McGillis, AIA, Senior Architect. Panelists include SSOE’s Tim Swartz, AIA, NCARB, Senior Architect and David Willoughby, AIA, NCARB, Business Leader; ReadySC’s Brad Nesse, Vice President of Economic Development; and Midlands Technical College’s Michael Ross, Director of Advanced Manufacturing.
The panel discussion, titled “Work Ready Communities: The Role of Advanced Manufacturing Training Centers,” will take place on Thursday, February 20 at 4 p.m. EST. This session will explore the transformative impact of advanced manufacturing on communities and the essential role of training centers in preparing a skilled workforce. Advanced manufacturing is a transformative technology-based business model that replaces traditional manufacturing systems. This panel will discuss how advanced manufacturing can radically transform communities by raising skill levels, wages, and the tax base. The discussion will also cover the importance of creating inclusive, supportive, and flexible learning environments to provide a well-trained workforce for manufacturers.
