The Top Engineering Firms List ranks the top 25 engineering firms based on the total number of licensed professional engineers. SSOE was named the third largest engineering firm in Birmingham, Alabama and the eighth largest engineering firm in Nashville, Tennessee.
In 2017, SSOE expanded their Southeast U.S. operations by acquiring Birmingham-based architectural firm The Burell Group, bringing additional resources and architecture expertise to SSOE. In 2018, the firm strengthened its senior leadership in the Southeast U.S. to support their strategic commitment and growth in the region, appointing Bob McCain, PE, Vice President, as Division Manager to oversee their Southeast Industrial Operations.
