TOLEDO, Ohio, August 6, 2018 – SSOE Group (www.ssoe.com), a global architecture, engineering, and construction management firm, is proud to celebrate 70 years in business this coming Wednesday, August 8, 2018.
SSOE was founded in 1948 when structural engineer Al Samborn returned to his hometown of Toledo after completing his military service to start his own engineering firm. Today, the firm has grown into a Top 10 Engineering / Architecture firm (BD+C) with 1,100 employees in 30 global offices across six countries and is one of Ohio’s largest engineering firms.
SSOE will commemorate this milestone anniversary with celebratory events across the organization. At SSOE’s World Headquarters, a ceremony will be held for employees, retirees, and guests on the day of the anniversary, Wednesday, August 8, at 11:30 a.m. in the courtyard at 1001 Madison Ave. A short presentation will kick-off the celebration with guest speakers including SSOE’s CEO and President, Bob Howell; Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur; City of Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz; and other public officials. In addition, Randall and Michael Samborn will speak at the event in honor of their late father and SSOE founder, Al Samborn.
